SSCB was founded in 2005 by a group of far-sighted researchers and doctors who operated at the Cardiocentro Ticino in Lugano (Switzerland). Since the first stem cell transplant on a heart attack in 2004, there has been a belief that stem cells were the future of medicine. They also knew that the umbilical cord was a rich source of stem cells and that these could become a great resource for the future of the new unborn.
